In addition to Mulder being a bit jaded about monsters these days in comparison with classic, more psychologically complex creatures like Frankenstein, he also pulls a classic move with the barista when he has to give his name. During the investigation, Mulder and Scully come across a website about the beastie in question:, and the blog, which is filled with fan fiction among other things, actually exists and can be perused now.
